History of "Lucky Dog Lottery"

My name is Gidget and I am a “Lucky Dog.”

For twelve years I have been an integral part of my family. I keep everyone entertained with my tricks; I sit up pretty, do yoga, play patty cake and even sing, How Much Is That Doggie In The Window. Of course, I obtain my favorite treats for my efforts.

Over a year ago, I heard my family talking about how times were tough and that we would have to cut back, even on my dog treats.

We started playing the lottery, each time I heard my family talk about how they would spend the millions. With frustrations they would say “maybe next time we’ll hit the jackpot.”

Then one day it happened; my family said "Hey let's have Gidget pick our lottery numbers, I'm sure she would bring us luck!"  This idea brought new excitement to our household. We would set up the lottery numbers upon the playing mat and I would pick each number accordingly.

I really like this game since I received an extra treat when we were through. I also get to ride along in the car when we go to the store to buy the tickets.

After several tries at this method, our odds were increasing. Instead of nothing, we would win a few dollars. This was encouraging; we began playing regularly, sometimes having me pick new numbers and sometime re-using the previous ones.

The idea to share this fun game with others became a reality when we started to tell our friends and they wanted to try to play it with their dog.

From that moment on, it became our focus to get all of our "dogs in a row" and develop a game that would be ready to market for Spring, 2011.

We added the spinner and a toy bone to expand the concept to include an additional game, Lucky Dog 1,000 - a fun family game that can be played without the lottery. Either way you choose to play it, we wish you many hours of fun and remember “In Dogs We Trust.”
